Training and Qualifications
An accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within the BACP's Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. I specialises working individually with clients, in person, online and over the phone.
I have dedicated experience of working with people who are affected by trauma. I’ve completed Trauma Enhanced Practice Levels 2 and 3 (2019). I hold awareness that an event, a series of events or a set of circumstances experienced by an individual as physically or emotionally hurtful, harmful or life threatening can be termed as trauma.
I have a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Counselling from the University of Edinburgh (2017). This was focused on the Person Centred approach and Psychodynamic perspective.
Prior to training as a psychotherapist I worked in corporate investment and banking organisations, having completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration (2007).
In 2018 I worked for the Managing Agent of the Scottish Government’s national fuel poverty scheme, Warmer Homes Scotland. Alongside my administration role I set up an internal Mental Health Champion service for employees (2020), which I continue to offer.
