“I found my sessions with Sophia the most beneficial of experiences with counselling I have had throughout my life. Having had counselling sessions with different therapists from my teenage years through to my early thirties for a variety of reasons, and with different strategies such as CBT and coaching, I found working with Sophia really the most helpful and supportive for what I needed at the time. 

She provided a safe space, where I felt listened to and validated in my experiences and emotions from very early on. She listened intently, and helped me to draw understanding and meaning from my experiences. Initially, we worked together over a number of months, doing lots of retrospective analysis to understand where my feelings stemmed from in childhood and relationships in my life. 

After drawing this work to a supportive close for a break of my own choosing, I felt confident and comfortable in asking to return to sessions with Sophia again after a particularly difficult year, to help me process a few traumatic events and experiences that had happened that I felt I needed support with. 

I would definitely feel positive about returning to sessions with her again in the future, as it was so helpful (particularly at a time where I felt very alone) to have this safe space to return to where I trusted my counsellor, and knew she knew me and my story from the beginning, which really helped. 

It is a difficult thing to say that I enjoyed the sessions, as they were often emotionally exhausting, but they were hugely beneficial to help me in getting to understand myself better, and Sophia’s approach was definitely supportive in my doing so. I feel very grateful to have had such a positive experience of her counselling sessions, that have really made an impact in who I am and my outlook on life today.”
